Darul Quran

As-salaam ‘alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu

Dear Parent/Guardian

JazakAllah khair for enrolling your child with us, here at Luton Islamic Centre

Below is a reminder of the rules and regulations:

  1. Weekday hours are Mondays and Thursday 5:00pm – 6:30pm.
  1. Most of the holidays are in line with local schools, therefore there should be no excuse for a lot of absences.
  1. Grace time is allowed up to 5 minutes for being late on an occasional basis. If you know that the child will be more than 5 minutes late, a phone call/message to respective class teacher is required to inform that the child will be late. Same rule applies if your child will be absent for the day. If your child continuously has unauthorised absences, they may lose their place at the Darul Quran.
  1. Islamic dress code is required of all the students in the Darul Quran.

The students are expected to conduct themselves in a proper, responsible and Islamic manner, respecting their teachers and other adults, their fellow students and all property. A student whose action(s) infringes upon the right(s) of others will be held responsible for the action(s), and disciplinary measures may be taken This will first involve discussions with the parent(s) and white/yellow/red report cards will be issued. Consistent misbehaviour may lead to expulsion.

Snacks/treats will be provided to your child occasionally. We encourage all children to bring a water bottle with them – there is a water dispenser in the masjid for refills. Your child can also bring snacks that are nut-free.

Please let the Head know of any absences due to illness. Regarding illness, please bear these in mind:

Generally it’s fine to send your child to masjid with a minor cough or cold, but with COVID-19 pandemic around, please do not send them if they have any symptoms. And please do not bring them to Darul Quran until the self-isolation time is over/symptoms disappear.

Encourage your child to throw away any used tissues and to wash their hands regularly.

Children with diarrhoea or vomiting should not be sent to Darul Quran until 24 hours after their symptoms have gone.

LIC cannot be held responsible for unsupervised areas and times before and after the lesson hours for participants. The parent(s) understand(s) that during the lessons at LIC in case of a mishap or an unforeseen accident on the masjid premises, neither LIC nor its representatives will be liable or responsible.

We strongly recommend parents/guardians park their cars and accompany the child to the masjid. Please do not park on the zigzag lines / Bhavin’s driveway and do not block any neighbour’s driveway.  We will be contacting you if you are seen to park inconveniently and the Bhavin’s landlord may also be noting / taking photos of car registration details.

Pupils will line up in their class areas. Teachers will wait in the entrance/exit areas. When you arrive at the door, the teacher will send out your child inshaAllah.

If you are happy to let your child walk home by themselves / to the location where you normally park, please let brother Faisal Malik know.
