In the Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.
Assalāmu ‘alaykum warahmatullāhi wa barakātuhu;
Luton Islamic Centre Announcement Wednesday 4th November 2020.
A new Four-Week Lockdown across England has been announced by the Prime Minister this week.
The new Lockdown rules do not allow for Congregational Prayers to take place.
The Luton Islamic Centre has taken the difficult decision to suspend all prayers and
activities from Thursday 5th November 2020.
This means that the Daily Congregational Prayers within the Masjid will be temporarily
suspended from Eeshaa’ on Wednesday 4th November 2020.
There will be no Jumu’ah / Friday Prayers during lockdown and weekly classes will be streamed online only.
This is a decision that was not taken lightly and was done to prevent further spread of the virus in our Masajids and the UK at large, with the foremost being the protection of the elderly and vulnerable amongst our Communities
We will, in-sha-Allah, reopen the Masjid for Prayers in line with the Government guidance, currently set for Wednesday 2nd December 2020. We ask everyone to pray Salah at home.
Our Staff will be available on telephone and online to provide guidance and answer questions during this period.
We urge our Communities to heed Governmental Advice and take precautions to help reduce and contain the spread of the virus. This is an ethical and Islamic duty upon each and every one.
