Eid Ul-Adha 2026 Announcement

Eid ul Adha Salah will be held at Wardown Park Cricket Pitch (LU2 7HA) at 9:00AM. In the event of rain, prayer will take place at the Masjid with two Jamā’ah, one at 8:00AM and the following at 9:00AM.

Jummah Giving

Jummah is the most blessed day of the week. Giving Sadaqah on the blessed day of Jummah holds special virtue and greater reward than any other day of the week.

Imām Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:
“Giving al-ṣadaqah on Fridays has a distinct advantage over the rest of the weekdays. Its superiority is similar to giving charity in the month of Ramaḍān in contrast to the rest of the months.”

Zakat

Zakat is obligatory on every Muslim who fulfills the two conditions necessary for its payment.

1) Your wealth has to reach the nisaab - (the minimum amount of wealth that one must possess before the Zakat becomes obligatory).

2) You possess wealth above the nisaab, for a period of one lunar year. If both conditions are met then you are required to pay Zakat at the rate of 2.5%. The nisaab is the equivalent of 85 grammes of 24 carat gold. (£6,674 as of 15 April 2025)
